WEB MALL: A Girls Second Best Friend

Diamonds may be a girls BEST friend, but a girls second best friend is jewelry. Allow me to introduce you to a new jewelry company I am absolutely gaga (Lady, Gaga. har har har) about. Their pieces are extremely creative and out of the ordinary. They definitely push the envelope as far as the look of contemporary jewelry design is concerned.

The company: Leviticus Jewelry
The price tag: Eh depends on the item. Unless you're rolling in it you can be like me and stick to the sale page. There are some really decent deals on clearance.

The Goods: Speak for themselves

This piece is called "Kiss of Death" and retails for $24.00

"The Flock" retailing for $39.00

"Our Darling Harness" retails for $89.00
(Seriously! Have you ever seen a necklace like this? I'm thinking this would be fantastic paired either with a really girly ruffly white shirt or very simply black top)

"Harold Hughes" $84.00

"Tick Tock" earrings $25.00

"Antique Bicycle" $39.00

"Deluxe Harness" $89.00

Impulsed to buy yet? Satiate them now.

Did you know that you can't check an article out of the Vatican archives unless it is at least 75 years old?

Did you know that an English Gentlemen's Club that ONLY accepts gentlemen as members?

Arrrrg! Shiver Me Facebook Timbers

1) Scroll to the bottom of your Facebook page. 2) On the bottom left corner, click English: US. 3) When the language selection appears, click English: Pirate. 4) watch what happens...

Billy, Put a Clamp On It!

For the love of all things holy please GOD let Billy Ray Cyrus never procreate again. Ten thumbs down for hands free parenting.

Below you will find his EIGHT year old daughter Noah singing along to a song about partying, getting tipsy, and boys trying to touch her junk.

She's eight, she's eight, she's eight, she's eight, she's eight! The worst part is that this is not the first time she has been in the news for inappropriate sexually based behavior. Stop the madness. Billy Ray. My achey breaky heart can't take anymore (I'm so sorry. I couldn't NOT throw something in there. I mean come on, his mullet and that song are technically the only career he ever had.).

Mia Michaels: An Adrenaline Shot Straight Into My Ambition

There are so many things I want to tell you about! However, I feel as if lumping them all into one post would diminish the beauty and value of them (kind of like buying M&M's at Walmart instead of the M&M store. The same product but two totally different experiences). In turn I have opted to post them separately (perhaps all in one night?!? Perhaps.) so the spotlight my shine equally as bright on each and they have their time to shine.

We shall start with Mia Miachaels, tearfully talented (as in watching her talent unfold will reduce you to tears because it is so beautiful. Or is that just resident Preggo Ragu over here?) choreographer whose most recent gig includes the television show "So You Think You Can Dance".  Now, first and foremost, notgonnalie I do not watch SYTYCD (see quotations above. The name is too damn long and I'm a fan of unnecessary abbreviations).

Even though I am not a fan of the show I will gladly spend an unmentionable amount of time YouTube'ing this woman's choreography for the show. It. Is. Breathtaking. Something must be said for people who have found their niche in this world. Not only is it extremely rare and brave (as far too often people said settle for being corporate desk jockeys, present company not excluded) it is an absolutely beautiful thing to watch unfold.

Mia's work can and does speak for itself. For complete viewing pleasure these are best watched at full volume and screen. Allow me to introduce:

(Running short on time? Hit the 0:45 mark. You will not be disappointed)

(Ooouuuu-weeee! Did anyone else feel that kiss?)

(Love 1:27 mark move)

(My undying love for Adele may or may not have factored in the decision to post this one. AND THEY REMIXED THE SONG. Oh.Hell.Yes.)

(Looks like whoever posted this video forgot how to spell "Philip". Fail.)

Personally I have felt myself die inside far too many a time. Snap if you agree. However, what always brings me back is watching/hearing/feeling/seeing a genuine form of expression. It restores my resolve to not let the mediocre defeat me but also that one day I CAN and WILL find a way to make my work nothing like "work".  Painting, singing, arguing for a court of law, practicing medicine, planning events, investing in businesses, wrestling tiger sharks, or whatever the pitter patter of your little heart speeds itself up for. You don't do what you do because it pays your bills. You do what you do because you love it and it just happens to pay your bills.

This is the dream.

P.S. The cover song addict in me struck again today! Did I forget to mention that I will often buy the SAME SONG from 15 different artists in one sitting? Oops. Being that baby is on the way and my piggy bank is pretty light these days I only indulged in 3. Count them. One...  Two... Three...

Secrets, Secrets are So Fun.../ Hey Jude Newark Airport Style

Allow me to introduce you to an amazing site. I am positive you have already heard about this but for the few that haven't, this post is for you. (Besides isn't an entry about Post Secret a right of passage for EVERY new blog? Yah, yah, yah...)

The site is called Post Secret. The premise is that people from all over the world (and believe me ALL over the world) will create postcards with their secrets written on the front. They are addressed to Post Secret with no name or return address. The cards are completely anonymous.

They can range anywhere from spiteful :

To confessions:

To illegal activities:

To falling in love:

All secrets are genuine and brutally honest. The best thing about it is that the site is an excellent sociological experiment. As a regular reader of Post Secret I feel connected to these people sending in their innermost thoughts. The senders could be next door neighbors, co-workers, CEO's, homeless hobos, ANYONE. It reminds me that no matter how different we as people are we all have one common thread running through each and every one of us and that's humanity itself.

Check out Post Secret every Sunday for the new batch of weekly secrets.

P.S. Another great RECENT demonstration of human connection in an otherwise isolated world check out the antics of Josh Wilson in Newark airport over the holidays. The story goes that a man unintentionally walked the wrong direction through a security check point in the airport thus putting the whole terminal on security lock down for HOURS. You can imagine how irritated and antagonistic people can quickly become when trying to get home for the holidays and being demanded into a stand still.

Instead of rallying a riot of negativity or letting people sit in their own muck, Josh pulled out his guitar and, well, you can check out what happened below. (I may or may not have teared up watching this).

P.S. Was anyone else reminded of the movie "Love Actually" when they watched this?

"Crap Yourself in a Blanket"

Real Housewives of Orange County-Episode Recap from the Eyes of the Middle Class

"Don kept slurping those things down and we all thought,'Slow down, man! You're not going to be able to walk pretty soon...'"

Another brand new glorious episode of Real Housewives of Orange County aired last night on Bravo. Not only is the show itself highly entertaining but one of the ultra cool bonuses of it are the little trail of entertainment ducklings that follow the Momma duckling, the show itself. Case in point, allow me to introduce you to the RHO____ epic episode recaps via Defamer.com

Every time they publish a new epi epi recap (epic episode recap) I end up losing myself when reading it. The writing may not be everyone's brand of humor but it fits mine to the tee. Reading it at work is hazardous to my employment (i.e. laughing at my desk way too hard to be appropriate for anything business like).

One of the best parts is that you can appreciate these reviews without actually having to watch the show. Iknowright?!?! Granted watching the show will help you catch the little hidden in there and enhance the experience as a whole, it isn't necessary.

Below please find a link to the latest epi epi recap, I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

Google Wave

Two posts in one night?!? Yes way! I promise this one will be quick. Basically in case ya'll haven't heard about Google Wave, you need to! It is Google's brand new internet communication platform. In case you are like me and have NO IDEA what that means think about it like this: a word document and a conversation had a baby and named it Wave. It is an interactive platform that will change the way we know e-mail today making it faster and more efficient.

One of the only downsides is the fact that you are communicating in real time which if you are like me could lead to some really awkward conversations. People connected with you on Wave can watch you respond to their e-mail as you are typing. Mass e-mails can also be altered AS they are sent and after the fact.

As of right now you have to be invited to try it. If you're interested in trying it, I just happen to have 18 extra invites (even though I'm not sure anyone's read this yet, lol). Let me know if you would like one!

For you visual folks, see more here:

Cover Me Surprised!

"Without a pen I feel naked, but it's writing that is my exhibitionism."

Hello! Hello! My main purpose for this blog is to entertain and inform. While I'm sure at points in time I will ending spilling the beans regarding my personal life I'm going to try and keep this primarily fun. If it's not fun, what's the point? Life is dreary enough. Most certainly I will over share information (despite having the opportunity to think thrice before publishing a post) but bare with me! You've been warned.

It must be known, I LOVE doodling around on the web. The internet is one huge treasure hunting playground and I never get tired of playing on the monkey bars and sliding down he slides. One link leads you to this bit of information, then another link to the next bit of information. It's like a bubble chart that tracks topics and thoughts. You start with one in the middle of the page and before you know it, you've filled up a poster board.

On this blog I aim to share with you some of my favorite videos, links, songs, articles, and websites. If you catch yourself on a slow work day, meander on over here and I will try and have something here for you that gets you closer to 5 o'clock. Just make sure yourself doesn't get caught ;) Clean out your history AND cookie folders folks! If you don't know how to do this, let me know and I'll dedicate a post to covering your tracks (I KNOW, I KNOW).

You should know RIGHT NOW that I am a sucker for anything RHO__ (Real Housewives of____) related. Below you will find a parody of RHO____ called "Real Housewives of Late Night". Basically Jimmy Fallon (whom I'm not usually a fan of. His jokes usually and "bleh, take it or leave it" on me) and his crew dressed in drags to represent each of their "wives". Hilarity ensues. Andy Cohen even gets in on the action for the highlight reel before the big finale episode. Tonight these sketches definitely tickled me. Hopefully you will find it equally as entertaining.

You should also know something else. I am going to come clean right. now. I am the ultimate sucker for a GOOD cover song. Now please know that I do recognize "good" is relative here. Please also do not confuse my enjoyment for good cover songs for an enjoyment for cover bands. No. No. No. No. NO. NOO. In general I do not enjoy cover bands. In fact I *may* actually loathe them. However, I am always open to new experiences so if anyone has an inside track on a good cover band, let me know and I will definitely give it a spin. This all being said below please find some covers that I enjoy.*

*Disclaimer: I'm not saying these are better than the original's but I am saying I enjoy the alternate sound. Taking something already in existence and creating something like it on the opposite end of the spectrum is intrigues me. Much like a photo and its negative. Two entirely different beasts.

Even though some people call her a cheap version of Amy Winehouse, I L-O-V-E Adele. (Excuse them! Amy can't get off the pipe. I'm fairly certain Adele isn't on the pipe but if she is she keeps her sheet straight! Amiright???). If you've heard the song "Chasing Pavements", you've heard Adele. That song garnered quite a bit of radio play and was a soundtrack for many movie and TV show scenes. Anyway, here is one of her covers I love followed by a great original by her.

If you like what you see/hear check out some other tunes by her: Right as Rain, Hometown Glory, Tired, and My Same. Her debut album is titled "19" and she made when was 19 (?!?!? Who would have ever guessed?).

Another great cover is a song you may or may not be familiar with, Black and Gold by Sam Sparro (a greek god according to my friend K-Y). With this song I actually fell in love with the cover before I even heard the original. Of course once I heard the original, I fell in love with that as well. Below find the original and the cover, in THAT particular order.

and......zee covah!

I'm going to cut myself off after this last cover because if I don't, you'll never come back and I'll never stop typing. In a quest for covers I stumbled upon a cover from a band I had never heard of before but now adore. Their a little group of beauties that go by the name "Noisettes". More and more they are gaining popularity and IMHO they deserve every ounce of it.

If you like what you hear check out some of their original's (never fear, they WILL featured at a later date) Wild Young Hearts, Never Forget You, and Saturday Night.

Whew! Ok. I'm off and I hope you were able to find something you liked or at least get a little giggle. TTFN.
